Summer Day Camp 2010SonQuest Rainforest!

Our weeklong summer day camp (vacation bible school) for children entering first grade through those entering fifth grade, with daily worship, classes and field trips.
GET READY! It’s that time of the year!
Thank you for your interest in our 2010 SonQuest Summer Day Camp - an experience of discovery your kids will never forget! Based on five key Bible verses that will change a child’s life — including John 3:16 —Sonquest Rainforest transports young minds into a vivid rainforest environment of jungle sounds, sights and smells, where they’ll dig into the Bible and meet Jesus in each day’s story. Plus they will create fun-filled crafts, eat snacks, play games and make new friends!
For entering 1st - 5th Graders
Faith UMC wants to honor God and provide the best week of your child’s summer!! We can’t wait to share God’s love and plan for His children! Day Camp will be open to children entering 1st grade through entering 5th graders.
Monday - Friday
Through worship, classroom instruction, crafts, games, skits, storytelling, singing, field trips and more, Day Camp is a wonderful opportunity to grow in God’s Word and have fun!
Registration Costs
Registration Fees this year will be $100.00 per child. If there is space still available after May 31st, registration fees will be $110.00. These registration fees go toward programming costs, field trips, camp t-shirt, group photo and snacks.
Field Trip Transportation
Chartered bus transportation will be provided from the Church and back for all day campers while on Field Trips.
Daily Schedule
Each day at Day Camp we will begin programming at 9:00 a.m., but ask that parents and guardians bring their children to church at 8:45 a.m. so we can begin promptly. This year, there is a NEW SCHEDULE CHANGE. Day Camp hours will be 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. every day EXCEPT Wednesday, when the kids will be dismissed early at 1:00 p.m. Please make a special note of this change. We will contact parents if they are more than 10 minutes late for pick-up.
Sack Lunches
Each day, Day Campers are expected to bring their own sack lunch. The Day Camp staff will provide water for the children at lunch and other snack times. If your child has food allergies, please provide appropriate snacks.
Camp Attire
Campers should wear their camp shirts, closed toe shoes, hat, and sunscreen every day.
Day Camp Celebration
Our Open House will be held Friday, July 30th, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. More information to follow.
Due to the high degree of interest in the Day Camp, we encourage you to send in your registration forms and fees as soon as possible. Because of limitations in classroom space and supervision, we must limit the attendance in order to insure quality and safety with adequate adult supervision.
* In years past, the Day Camp capacity limit has been reached prior to the deadline date, so please register immediately.
* Depending on enrollment, there may be more than one class at a grade level.

Faith United Methodist Church is located at 2115 W. 182nd Street in Torrance near the corner of Van Ness Ave. and 182nd Street (just east of Nijiya Market).

- Request a Registration Form via Email at faithdaycamp@yahoo.com
- Complete the 3 page Registation Form
- EMAIL completed 3 page Registration Form to faithdaycamp@yahoo.com
- PRINT and SIGN Medical Authorization/Photo Release Authorization form (the last page)
- Write check payable to Faith United Methodist Church - Day Camp 2010
(Include child’s name on check in MEMO section)
- MAIL signed Medical Authorization/Photo Release Authorization Form AND Registration Check to:

Your registration is complete when we receive your Registration, Check, and signed Medical Authorization/Photo Release Authorization in the mail. We will email a confirmation of your child’s registration following the close of registration on May 31st.

Keiki Camp (Saturday, July 31, 2010)
We also host a day camp for pre-schoolers, with worship, craft activities and games. Please call the church office at (310) 217-7000 for registration information.
